Medical issue leads to semi crash at Columbia Park Golf Tri Plex in Kennewick

UPDATE: November 19 at 3:30 p.m.

According to Washington State Patrol spokesperson Daniel Mosqueda, a 65-year-old male driver experienced a medical issue while driving a semi eastbound on Highway 240 from the Steptoe overpass, resulting in the crash.

The semi left the road, crossed the median and both westbound lanes, and barreled into Columbia Park Golf Tri Plex.

The vehicle destroyed a section of the fence and came to a stop after sideswiping a tree.

The driver, who was hauling scissor jacks, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

No golfers or other drivers were injured in the crash..

The crash has left the semi in need of towing, which may take some time, but the road is now clear for traffic.

KENNEWICK, Wash. – A crash is currently blocking one lane of State Route 240 in Kennewick, causing backups, according to the Washington Department of Transportation.

“Travelers on SR 240 westbound in Kennewick are experiencing backups and added travel time due to a collision blocking one lane,” WSDOT said.
