PORTLAND, Ore. — The Department of Justice charged a man who was shot by border patrol agents last week for “violently striking” a Border Patrol agent’s car.

Prosecutors said the suspect repeatedly struck a federal law enforcement car with his own vehicle while attempting to flee.

The Department of Justice released images on Thursday showing the damaged Border Patrol car connected to the shooting.

The man now faces a charge of aggravated assault of a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon.
