YAKIMA, Wash. – A man was shot and killed near the 1800 block of Cornell Avenue in the early hours Monday morning, according to a social media post from the Yakima Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at around 3:16 a.m. They found a 27-year-old man with apparent gunshot wounds, who died as a result of his injuries despite lifesaving efforts.
After the initial 911 call, Yakima police said they got more information that another person was hospitalized for gunshot wounds. Their injuries were non-life-threatening, but police believed the individual was involved in the earlier shooting.
This investigation is ongoing.
