YAKIMA, WA – An arraignment date in Yakima County Court is set for a Mabton man in the deadly shooting of a woman in Sunnyside January 7.
Court documents say an eyewitness positively identified Aundrae Rodolfo Carreon, 18, as the man who gunned down, Isabel Rodriguez, who was driving a vehicle.
Carreon is charged with first degree murder in the death of Rodriguez and charged with three counts of attempted murder for shooting at three other people in the car, one of them a child, the court documents said.
Officers said in their investigation that they seized an AR-15 rifle and a .40 caliber Glock handgun from under a vehicle. An autopsy concluded that a .40 caliber bullet struck the victim’s heart, causing her death, the court documents said.
A second man, Angel Emmanuel Plascencia-Gutierrez, 18, was also arrested. While detectives were investigating him as a person of interest at the scene of the crime and a possible shooter, they found a stolen Glock 9mm handgun out of Bellingham under his bed, the court documents said.
Plascencia-Gutierrez is charged with possession of a stolen firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Both suspects are listed as co-defendants. They’re scheduled for arraignment on Friday, January 24. Carreon’s bail is set at $500,000 and Plascencia-Gutierrez’s at $5,000.
