KENNEWICK, Wash. – Tri-Cities residents are gearing up for a festive weekend in downtown Kennewick with the return of the Lucky Leprechaun Pub Crawl, featuring The Sports Page, Parkade, and Blackthorne Neighborhood Pub.
Taking place on Saturday, March 15, the event will feature local bars and restaurants coming together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with style.
Katie Clark, the owner of Parkade Bar and Restaurant, shared her excitement about the event. “We’re going to kick off St. Patrick’s Day in style with the pub crawl. You can start at any of the bars,” she said.
Janice McClain from The Sports Page shared her thoughts on the event’s success.
“Well, who doesn’t like to party with a purpose? It’s a great way to come together, celebrate St. Paddy’s Day, and support a local cause. This year it’s the Tumbleweed Cat Rescue,” she said.
For a $20 entry, participants will enjoy three beers, including a green beer, and a jello shot. Mixed drinks are also available for non-beer drinkers.
The pub crawl has been a hit in previous years due to its walkability and the jolly atmosphere.
“People love pub crawls down here because you can walk to them. Then you can get an Uber home, and it’s great,” Clark added. “Everyone just loves to dress up and have fun around here.”
This year, the proceeds from the pub crawl will be directed to Tumbleweed Cat Rescue, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping special needs cats and those struggling in shelter environments.
Anne McCartney, President of Tumbleweed Cat Rescue, explained the organization’s mission and the importance of the support they receive.
“So we are kind of a specialty rescue. We take in more special needs cats or ones that are not doing well in a shelter environment. We’ll take in ones that need surgery from veterinarians,” McCartney said.
The funds raised through ticket sales will go toward the care and surgeries needed for the cats.
McCartney added, “We have four cats going in for surgery next week. We need a lot of funds to cover all of these surgeries. So we really appreciate everyone who comes out and helps us make that happen.”
