Kennewick, Wash. –
Washington State Patrol officers and the Kennewick Police Department were called to the 800 block of N. Volland St around 9:20 p.m. Saturday night after reports of an assault involving weapons.
When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to the head. Officers immediately applied first aid and were able to transport the victim to a local hospital.
According to the KPD, the victim has since been transported to an out-of-town hospital for advanced care.
KPD officers arrested a 15-year-old suspect and they have been booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of assault in the first degree.
According to KPD reports, the shooter and victim knew each other. Officials are still investigating the shooting.
