YAKIMA, Wash. – Yakima Police responded to a kidnapping report on Monday that turned out to be a prank, according to a social media post.
YPD says at around 10 a.m., officers were sent to the area of Target at 12 N. Fair Ave. Several officers were deployed while Washington State Patrol troopers and Yakima County Sheriff’s deputies tried to find an involved vehicle.
Further investigation found that the incident was a prank. Law enforcement contacted those associated after taking exit 26 on I-82.
No criminal charges were sought after the incident was verified to be a prank.
