Kennewick wrong-way crash sends one driver to hospital, possible DUI

KENNEWICK, Wash. –

A wrong-way crash on US 395 sent one driver to the hospital early today. Around 2:15 a.m., Kennewick Police Department (KPD) responded to a crash between N St. Yelm and N Ely St.

Officer Fernando Ramos stated that the wrong-way driver, heading west in a sedan, is in custody for a possible DUI.

The investigation is being conducted by Washington State Patrol (WSP). The correct-way driver, traveling in an SUV, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. This was confirmed by the spouse of the injured driver, who arrived at the scene around 3:30 a.m.

The crash resulted in the closure of the left lane between 2:15 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., but the highway is now clear.
