KENNEWICK, Wash. – Starting April 1, 2025, Kennewick’s Transportation Benefit District will implement a 0.1% sales tax increase, lasting up to 10 years, according to the city’s website.

This change is set to generate approximately $3 million annually, solely for local transportation improvements.

The tax will add one cent to a $10 purchase within Kennewick, affecting both residents and visitors who pay sales tax in the area, the city said.

The funds will support projects focused on pavement preservation and priority improvements outlined in Kennewick’s 20-Year Transportation System Plan and the Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program.
