
KENNEWICK, Wash. – Workers in the Kennewick-Richland area earned an average hourly wage of $34.43 according to the most recent Occupational Employment and Wages report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Statistics from May 2024 published on May 15, 2025 shows the average wage across Kennewick and Richland surpassed the national average of $32.66.
Some of the high-paying occupations in the area include management roles at $74.21 per hour, architecture and engineering at $59.89, and computer and mathematical positions at $56.95.
On the other end, food preparation and serving jobs paid $20.53, building and grounds cleaning and maintenance jobs earned $21.56, and healthcare support roles received $22.92.
The office and administrative support sector, accounting for 10.4 percent of local employment, was one of the largest occupational groups in Kennewick.
This sector offered an average hourly wage of $26.16, compared to the national rate of $24.12. The group includes jobs such as general office clerks, secretaries, and customer service representatives.
The report also pointed out that tellers were employed at 1.84 times the national rate in Kennewick, indicating a strong presence in the area.
