KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick Police Department (KPD) is sharing video of officers arresting a 31-year-old man on April 6 for alleged communication online with a 14-year-old for immoral purposes.

Officers said they found sufficient evidence that the man was planning to meet the juvenile at a hotel. It was also revealed that he’s a registered sex offender.

Police set up a meeting with the man using previous communication methods and the man arrived in the 1100 block of W 10th Ave, where officers observed him waiting in his vehicle, police said in a release.

The department utilized a drone to monitor the man before officers approached and took him into custody. He was arrested on a charge of Commercial Sexual Abuse of a Minor.

KPD posted the arrest online for viewing.

NonStop Local typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
