KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick Police Department is investigating a felony hit-and-run incident that occurred Sunday and injured a 14-year-old boy.
KPD said that the boy was riding an electric scooter when he was hit by a black SUV near the intersection of West 6th Avenue and South Taft Street.
The boy was thrown from the scooter and sustained a broken ankle, while the driver of the SUV fled the scene.
“We are asking residents in the surrounding area to check their home surveillance systems between 5:00–5:15 p.m. on 11/23/25,” KPD said on social media. “Even if your camera did not capture the collision itself, any footage showing vehicles passing through the area may help us identify the suspect SUV.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact KPD at 509-628-0333, or submit a tip anonymously on their website.
