Kennewick police find elderly woman’s family after welfare check

KENNEWICK, Wash.–UPDATE 4:20 P.M.:

Police were able to get in contact with the woman’s family and will connect them with resources to prevent other incidents from taking place.

ORIGINAL COVERAGE:

A woman was walking around Olympia St. and identified herself as “Marisa Rubia” when police showed up for a welfare check.

Kennewick Police said she seems to suffer from memory issues and was not sure of her name, and was not able to identify where she lived and if she had family in the area.

She was walking but was not sure where she was going, and police say she seems to be in her her late 70’s or 80’s and was wearing a light pink nightgown.

Police transported her to Trios Hospital for a medical examination because of the heat, according to KPD.
