
KENNEWICK, Wash. – Police arrested a man around 9:31 p.m. near Westgate Elementary School on multiple domestic violence charges, as well as obstruction and resisting arrest.
Officers were originally dispatched to an assault reported on South Conway Place around 9:31 p.m. on Sunday, according to a social media post from the Kennewick Police Department. The man, identified as 43-year-old Jayson Castenada, fled the scene when police arrived.
Police said their investigation found Castenada had violated a domestic violence (DV) no contact order, assaulted and threatened the life of the victim.
K9 units responded to help locate Castenada, who was seen later that night riding a bike near Westgate Elementary School. Police said they believed he was trying to return to the victim’s residence.
Castenada was booked into Benton County Jail on felony order violation DV, residential burglary DV, felony harassment DV, assault in the 4th degree DV, obstructing a public servant, and resisting arrest.
