KENNEWICK, Wash. – A man was booked into Benton County Jail on felony charges in connection with an early morning burglary at Quake Family Fun Center, said the Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at the center just before 2:00 a.m. A live camera feed showed the suspect crawling around in an attempt to avoid security cameras, but he was unsuccessful, BCSO said.
Upon arrival, deputies said they observed a man running from the back of the building toward the freeway carrying a black duffel bag and a small white bag. The suspect was eventually arrested.
Deputies discovered bear spray on the suspect and recovered multiple power tools and burglary tools believed to have been used to gain entry into the facility. The suspect’s getaway car was seized and is pending a search warrant.
Quake staff posted on Facebook, saying they were alerted to the break-in immediately after the man attempted to enter the building due to their alarm system.
The center noted that the process from receiving the first notification to working with police and being informed of the man’s arrest occurred within minutes.
