Kennewick drive-by shooting under investigation, roads temporarily closed

KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kennewick police are investigating a drive-by shooting that took place at the intersection of West Clearwater Avenue and North Huntington Street.

The incident was reported around 1 p.m. when a caller stated someone shot at them while they were driving by.

The roads in the vicinity were temporarily closed following the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to Kennewick Police Officer Zachary Cain, the suspect vehicle, which had three people inside, was last seen heading northbound on US 395 into Pasco.

Authorities are considering the possibility that the shooting was gang-related and targeted. However, they have assured that there is no threat to the public.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
