KENNEWICK, Wash. – Desert Sage Dental in Kennewick is offering a unique opportunity for individuals in need of significant dental work. The local dentist office is giving away a “smile makeover” that could be valued at up to $50,000, entirely free of charge.

Dr. Ryan Zentz, the Chief Operating Officer of Desert Sage Dental, has a personal connection to this initiative. Born with a cleft palate, Zentz has undergone 13 reconstructive surgeries and numerous dental procedures. “I’ve gone through just about everything that can be done in a dental office,” Zentz said.

Zentz recalls how his peers reacted during his childhood. “Anyone that has kids or knows kids, they know that they’re relentless. So they’re not afraid to poke fun [or] make fun,” he said.

His journey through multiple surgeries and procedures gave him a boost in confidence that led him to a career in dentistry. Zentz was aware from a young age he wanted to help others. “Right about fourth grade; At that time had received, probably my third or fourth facial reconstruction [procedure]. And I could definitely tell that I was looking different and feeling different,” Zentz said.

Now as a thriving dentist, Zentz aims to provide others with the same self-esteem boost he received. “The most powerful thing is, some people… they’ll hug you afterwards or they’ll cry in the mirror,” he said.

The procedures offered are significant and costly. “Like each one of these [crowns], are let’s say $1,000. If someone were to do this to their mouth, you’re looking at $18,000 on just this model alone,” Zentz explained.

Desert Sage Dental is offering a full smile makeover, which can cost up to $50,000. “The goal would be just somebody that really needs a lot of help and can’t do it on their own,” Zentz said.

For those interested or who know someone who might qualify, Zentz encourages them to call Desert Sage Dental. They will be speaking with people over the next few weeks. “Ultimately, we just want you to be better, be happier and feel better about it, and we’re going to help you get there no matter what it takes,” Zentz said.
