KENNEWICK, Wash. – A youth football coach in Kennewick is searching for answers after his recently purchased Christmas gifts were stolen.
Coach Brett Hall was shopping at the Columbia Center Mall when he helped de-escalate a situation involving an angry shopper. The incident began when the shopper started yelling at employees. Though the shopper appeared to leave, they soon returned, prompting Hall to intervene.
Hall successfully calmed the situation, but during the chaos, someone took off with the items he bought.
“I thought my wife was grabbing my bag. But it was a lady who appeared to be helping, grabbed my bag and stood there and watched. And when the police finally showed up and got the guy handcuffed, I turned around and was looking for my bag and couldn’t find it,” said Hall.
Hall and his wife are hopeful that there was a misunderstanding during the commotion and that the woman who left with the gifts will come forward to resolve the issue.
