KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Three Rivers Convention Center held a groundbreaking ceremony for its upcoming expansion project.
The Kennewick City Council approved the project on February 18, 2025, ensuring no new taxes for residents.
The expansion will add 60,000 square feet of exhibit space and 5,000 square feet of meeting rooms, along with an extended lobby and a new kitchen.
Corey Pearson, Executive Director, highlighted the anticipated local benefits, stating, “This will be a game changer for the community and will benefit our hotels, restaurants, and retailers at no extra cost to the taxpayers.”
The expansion is expected to attract nearly 200,000 attendees annually, boosting the local economy by $130.8 million and generating $6.9 million in tax revenues. A new 162-room hotel by A-1 Pearl will also begin construction in April 2025, enhancing visitor accommodations.
The project is slated for completion in Fall 2026.
