A City of Kahlotus councilmember, Perrie Robitaille, was killed in the crash on State Route 395 this morning.
Robitaille was also the father of the current mayor of Kahlotus, Michael Robitaille.
According to Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred at around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
WSP said an SUV was heading northbound on Highway 395, while a sedan was heading eastbound on Vineyard Drive. The sedan failed to yield and hit the SUV.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Robitaille, was killed. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries.
The scene has been cleared and there are no more impacts to traffic, WSP said.
PASCO, Wash. – Police responded to a crash on State Route 395 at Vineyard Drive on Tuesday morning.
According to Franklin County Fire District 3, one person was transported to the hospital following the two-car crash. Washington State Patrol said there was a fatality.
“Along the 395 corridor please use extreme caution and keep alert,” Franklin County Fire District 3 said. “If trying to cross traffic, take extra time and don’t ‘think’ you can make it. Take a few extra seconds or minutes to know you can make it.”
Traffic was still slow as of 7:30 a.m., according to WSP.
