
KENNEWICK, Wash. – Benton County sheriff’s deputies helped capture a 39-year-old wanted man with help from a stolen iPhone, the sheriff’s office said in a release.
Richland Police began the investigation by tracking the phone on the suspect’s possession, leading officers to N Irby Street and W Johnson Street in Kennewick where investigators said the suspect fled through residential backyards when he saw officers.
A deputy and K-9 Riff tracked the suspect to a hiding spot behind a home. The suspect, who was wanted on a firearms violation, surrendered and was taken into custody, the release said.
