PASCO, Wash. – The City of Pasco plans to address a noticeable rise in roadside sales of food and merchandise.
Pasco Municipal Code allows people to sell fruits, vegetables, berries, eggs and other farm produce without a license, as long as these items are raised or manufactured by the seller.
However, this exemption does not cover other types of food or merchandise.
The City Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with the Pasco Police Department and the Code Enforcement Division, plans to explore potential enforcement options.
According to the city council’s agenda report, the focus will be on ensuring compliance with the municipal code, particularly concerning unauthorized sales and sidewalk vending regulations.
The issue will be up for discussion during the city council’s May 5 meeting.
