RICHLAND, Wash.–A new playground at Howard Amon Park will reopen on Friday.
The playground will feature a cruise boat-themed structure inspired by the cruise ships on the river during the summer, according to a City of Richland news release. The playground will offer improved accessibility alongside other features to ensure children of all ages and abilities can use it.
Features include larger play structures, wider access points, more swings, dedicated play areas for young children and all-age users, sensory equipment and more, according to the release.
Families are invited to attend a grand opening at 11 a.m. Friday with snow cones, arts and crafts and other activities, according to the release.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this innovative and inclusive playground that brings new life to a beloved community space,” said Richland Parks & Public Facilities Director Chris Waite, according to the release. “This project reflects our commitment to creating accessible, engaging, and inspiring environments for all children in our community.”
