PASCO, Wash. – Fire investigators are looking into whether a house fire in Pasco near Longfellow Elementary was deliberately set.

On Wednesday, January 22, crews rushed to the 200 block of North 10th around 4:00 p.m. where smoke was seen pouring out of the home.

Crews made sure no one was inside and extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of their arrival, said Deputy Fire Chief Chris Mortensen with the Pasco Fire Department.

Chief Mortensen said one firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Pasco Police are looking for a suspect in what Mortensen described as a possible arson case.

Most of the heavy damage is to the back of the home and the home is uninhabitable, according to Mortensen.
