Homeland Security agents visit Kennewick preschool seeking information

KENNEWICK, Wash. – Homeland Security agents made an unexpected visit to a Kennewick preschool on Thursday, prompting concerns and questions from the community.

The agents arrived at the city’s Head Start Preschool, seeking to speak with a staff member. They were looking for information on an individual who was neither a student nor an employee of the preschool.

In a message to parents, the Kennewick School District (KSD) stated that the administration directed the agents to consult with the district’s legal counsel. The agents left the premises without speaking to the staff member in question.

KSD policy clearly states that immigration operations are not allowed on school grounds. This incident has raised questions and concerns among parents and the community.

Nonstop Local reached out to the Kennewick School District for further details and to Homeland Security for their comment. We are currently awaiting their responses.
