FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. – A man was arrested over the weekend in connection with gunshots fired at Juniper Dunes in Franklin County.

Around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) sergeant working in the area noticed a green laser coming from a group of five people in the parking lot.

The sergeant then heard multiple gunshots and saw muzzle flashes from the same group. He detained the individuals and retrieved a concealed handgun with a green laser attachment from one of the men, FCSO said in a release.

Investigators said backup deputies arrived to find 14 spent casings near a white trailer and that the shooter admitted he lacked a concealed weapons license.

Authorities determined he unlawfully discharged the firearm and possessed it without a license. He was booked into the Franklin County Jail. No injuries were reported.

FCSO reminds visitors that deputies will conduct extra patrols, maintaining zero tolerance for reckless behavior at the dunes.
