Franklin County in Kansas reveals 133-year-old time capsule treasures

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Kan. – A piece of history was unveiled Thursday when Franklin County opened a time capsule hidden for 133 years.

Community members gathered as the Franklin County Historical Society revealed newspapers, Bibles and photos dating back to 1892. County leaders shared that these relics provide insight into the values of early settlers.

The county is now seeking suggestions for items to include in the next time capsule. A cell phone has already been proposed.
