Franklin County Fire District 3 Chief Mike Harris provided NonStop Local with more information on the fire.
Harris says the fire was caused by a homeowner burning tumbleweeds on a no burn day.
The fire reportedly burned across three properties, damaging a boat, a few cars and a jet ski. No one was injured.
Harris calls for the public to pay attention to burn regulations. Fire danger is currently moderate, however it spread due to high winds.
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. – Crews from Franklin County Fire District 3 controlled a wildfire northeast of Pasco on Saturday.
FCFD3 says the fire, located near Jake Road off of Pasco Kahlotus Road, grew to 15 acres in size before being controlled. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
