FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. – The Franklin County Board of Commissioners has officially appointed Keilen Harmon as the director of the newly formed Franklin County Corrections Department.
The decision was made official during the consent agenda of the commission’s April 30 meeting following the board’s creation of the Department of Corrections as a separate entity from the Sheriff’s Department on April 23, 2025.
According to the resolution, the employment agreement outlines Harmon’s role as an ‘at will’ employee, with the county retaining the right to adjust job titles and duties as needed.
Harmon will earn an annual salary of $150,000 for the first year, transitioning to a structured pay scale thereafter, the resolution said.
The appointment follows escalating tensions between Sheriff Raymond and the Board of Commissioners and allegations made against Sheriff Raymond of assaulting his former colleague.
