Fire rekindles near Columbia Plateau Trail, NE of Pasco

PASCO, Wash. – Fire crews today responded to and contained a rekindled fire near the Columbia Plateau Trail at the Snake River Junction Trailhead, northeast of Pasco.

The blaze follows a previous fire suspected to be caused by fireworks on Saturday, July 5, Franklin County Fire District #3 said in a release.

Due to the dense vegetation and proximity to the Snake River, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources Helicopter 3NW conducted water drops, aiding ground crews in cooling and mopping up hotspots.
