Fight breaks out at Pasco and Hanford high schools’ basketball game

PASCO, Wash. – A fight erupted during Senior Night at a basketball game between Pasco and Hanford high schools.

The incident, which involved both students and adults, occurred at the end of the boys’ varsity basketball game.

The Richland School District is investigating the situation.

Shawna Dinh from the district stated, “The incident involved both students and adults and we are working closely with Pasco High and Pasco School District administration to investigate the situation and take any necessary actions.”

District 3 Pasco City Councilman Leo Perales also commented on the incident. “This is more than just a game. It’s about integrity, respect and the safety of our students. Pasco has always been a strong community and I’m proud of the parents and staff who stood up to de-escalate and protect our kids,” he said.

The Pasco Police Department is seeking assistance from the community. They have requested that pictures and videos of the fight be sent to them to help with their investigation.
