Federal workers reinstated as Education Department fights job cuts

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Education Department is temporarily reinstating about 250 federal workers who were placed on leave in March, according to reports. This move comes as the federal government fights to prevent job cuts in court.

An agency spokesperson stated that all employees will assist with the department’s operations. Several workers in the Office for Civil Rights received an email last Friday instructing them to return and help with civil rights complaints, said the spokesperson.

This reinstatement aims to maintain the department’s functionality while the legal battle continues.
