WAPATO, Wash. – A fatal collision between a train and a vehicle at Donald Road and North Wapato Road in Wapato has led to a full closure of the intersection and surrounding roads. Emergency responders, including Wapato Police and local fire/EMS, are on the scene.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area and use alternate routes to enter the city. The crossing is blocked, and traffic is being diverted.
Chief Craig Janis advised that significant delays should be expected as the investigation and clearing process continues.
