
RICHLAND, Wash. – The third annual Dive into Summer event is set to kick off in Richland on Saturday, June 21, offering a day filled with activities for the whole family.
The festivities begin with an open swim session at the George Prout Pool, located at 1005 Swift Boulevard, where entry is just $1, the city said in a release.
Swim sessions are available from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In the evening, John Dam Plaza will host free family-friendly entertainment from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the HAPO stage. Attendees can enjoy live music, lawn games, and activities suitable for all ages.
Theo, the library’s dinosaur mascot, will be present for photos and high-fives, with a special celebration planned for Theo’s first birthday at 7:00 p.m.
The event will feature vendors such as Vivid Imaginations Face Painting, Miss Tamale, Sweet Squeeze Lemonade, Popcorn Northwest and Sweet Snack Attack.
Partner organizations, including The Reach Museum and Girl Scouts, will provide information on upcoming summer activities. Kids visiting all partner tables can receive a free snow-cone, courtesy of the Friends of the Richland Library.
