FINLEY, Wash. – Benton County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man early Friday morning after a traffic stop and used surrounding snow to track him down.

At about 3:50 a.m., a car was pulled over in the Finley area for a traffic violation. Because of snow, the car was able to pull into a driveway and the passenger exited and escaped.

Deputies later identified the passenger and found that he had a number of outstanding arrest warrants.

Deputies then followed fresh shoeprints in the snow until it reached a commercial property. A UAV was used to follow the shoeprints into a vehicle being stored on the property.

BCSO says the property manager gave deputies access to the site. The man was found and arrested without incident.

Along with his outstanding arrest warrants, the man is facing charges of trespassing, vehicle prowling and possession of drug paraphernalia.
