PASCO, Wash. – Pasco Police arrested a driver early Wednesday morning for reportedly causing a two-car crash on I-182 and attempting to run away.
PPD Sergeant Rigo Pruneda says at around 2 a.m., a car was rear ended by another car while heading eastbound on I-182. The car that was hit then swerved into the median where it flipped.
The other car which caused the crash also went into the median then drove into the westbound lanes, coming to a stop on the right side of westbound I-182.
The causing driver allegedly ran away from the crash and evaded both police and Washington State Patrol troopers, until he was later found at around 5:30 a.m. sleeping in the backyard of a home on Wernett Road. He has since been arrested.
Pruneda says the driver in the flipped car was brought to the hospital with minor injuries.
Parts of westbound I-182 were closed for about two hours but have since been reopened.
