KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kennewick Police responded to a disturbance on the 2100 block of North Steptoe Street on Saturday, resulting in two arrests.
Officers first discovered two people with an active no-contact order against each other. One of them had previously violated the order, elevating the incident to a felony.
Instead of listening to police commands, the man reportedly stayed inside the home, prompting a need for more officers.
The situation required multiple resources, including the Tri-Cities Regional SWAT team, a K9 and a drone. Officers focused on peacefully resolving the situation, but the suspect’s family allegedly began disrupting officers.
One family member was arrested for vehicle prowling, resisting arrest and obstruction after attempting to access a patrol vehicle.
The suspect eventually exited the home without further incident and was taken into custody.
