Boeing recently announced that Delta Air Lines has placed an order for 60 of its 787 Dreamliner aircrafts. The move is reportedly part of Delta’s plan to modernize its widebody fleet and expand its international routes.
With the purchase, Delta’s fleet now includes 130 Boeing airplanes.
The deal also provides opportunities for Delta to purchase additional Boeing planes in the future.
Delta’s expansion plan will focus on high-demand transatlantic and South American routes.
The airline also operates part of its hub out of Seattle.
NonStop Local has reached out to Boeing to inquire if any of the planes will be built in Washington state or Montana. Boeing has not immediately responded.
