YAKIMA, Wash. – Del Monte Foods provided NonStop Local with a statement on Friday announcing that it will be closing its plant and of its two warehouses in Yakima.

The statement says the decision to close the plant was to “align the business with consumer demand.” Other Del Monte Foods facilities are unaffected by the decision.

The full statement from Corporate Communications Senior Manager Carissa Sauer can be found below:

“Del Monte Foods has announced the closure of its Yakima, Washington plant and two Yakima warehouses that currently produce and store fruit products. This means that there will be no pack for the 2025 season at the Yakima facility. The Company has notified and is in discussions with the Union that represents bargaining unit employees at the sites, and other manufacturing parties regarding the effects of these plans. The Company will also be notifying relevant government officials at the appropriate time. This transaction will not affect the Company’s family of brands, including Del Monte®, Contadina®, College Inn®, Kitchen Basics®, JOYBA®, Take Root Organics® and S&W®.

This was an extremely difficult decision, but one the Company needed to make to align the business with consumer demand. No other facility in the Del Monte Foods network is impacted by this decision.”
