Crystal Apple Award honorees announced, will be honored at March 20 ceremony

PASCO, Wash. – Nine local educators were announced to be honorees for 2025’s Tri-City Crystal Apple Awards for Excellence in Education and will be honored at the yearly Crystal Apple ceremony on March 20.

The Crystal Apple Awards recognizes outstanding educators from nine local school districts and identifies a few of the many individuals that have a positive impact on the lives and futures of students.

2025’s honorees include:

Chelsea Taylor, Columbia Elementary SchoolJanae Bell, Finley Elementary SchoolNathen Allington, Tri-Tech Skills CenterGreg Jones, Kiona-Benton City Elementary SchoolAlisa Brasel, Basin Elementary SchoolPriscilla Tovar, Desert Oasis High SchoolGabriela Whitemarsh, Pasco High SchoolJeff Appelgate, Housel Middle SchoolKim Ward, Wiley Elementary School

Superintendents from each district will be at the ceremony to present $1,500 cash rewards, crystal apples and certificates to each educator.

The public is invited to the ceremony, which will take place at Educational Service District 123 in Pasco at 4:30 p.m. A free reception will follow.
