The City of Pasco has awarded the construction contract for the fourth phase of the Sandifur Parkway/Broadmoor Boulevard project to a Richland contractor.

The contract worth $4,286,821.62 went to Tapani, Inc to perform road construction work on the intersections of Broadmoor/Sandifur Parkway and Broadmoor/Buckingham Drive, as well as widening the corridor, according to the city council agenda report.

The project will provide a new signalized intersection, dedicated turn lanes, and multimodal considerations throughout the Broadmoor corridor.

Phase 1a and Phase 1b of the project is already complete with work done to prepare the area for critical utility infrastructure that serves the entire Broadmoor area.

The third phase of the project, still underway, addresses current deficiencies and accommodates future traffic projections at the intersection of Broadmoor and Burns, the report said.

By awarding the contract to Tapini, the city saved just under $2.2 million. The engineer’s estimated cost of phase four was $6,498,751.72, the report said.
