NEW YORK, N.Y. – Organizers of the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball Drop are conducting confetti test launches in preparation for the upcoming celebration.
Monday morning, confetti was launched to get ready for the approximately 3,000 pounds of it that will descend on New Year’s Eve.
Visitors can participate by heading to the New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall to write their 2026 wishes on the confetti that will be released when the clock strikes midnight.
For those who cannot visit in person, wishes can also be submitted to the virtual wishing wall.
Organizers say they test the confetti first for fun and second because it’s a big responsibility.
This iconic event remains a significant tradition, inviting people from around the world to share their hopes and dreams for the coming year.
