Several parks and boat launches will be temporarily closed for the IRONMAN race taking place in Tri-Cities this weekend.
The following closures were shared in a press release from the City of Richland:
“Columbia Point boat ramp and Columbia Point Marina Park parking lot will be closed to normal park use Friday, September 19 through Sunday, September 21.Leslie Groves Park Snyder boat launch and Howard Amon Park North boat launches will be closed from Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 p.m. through Sunday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m.Leslie Groves Park entrance at River Road off Hains Avenue and Bradley Boulevard Trailhead along the Riverfront Trail will be closed from Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 p.m. through Sunday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m.No Parking Zones: Temporary No Parking signs have been posted along Spengler Street. Vehicles parked in violation will be towed at the owner’s expense.”
RICHLAND, Wash. – The IRONMAN race taking place in the Tri Cities next Sunday, September 21 will cause some road closures and detours to make way for competing athletes.
Detours will be in place as early as 6:00 a.m., and it’s expected the athletes will be within the City of West Richland limits between 8:00 a.m. and noon.
IRONMAN races are triathlons consisting of swimming, biking and running.
