RICHLAND, Wash. – The Parks and Recreation Commission in Richland is considering a recommendation to the city council that would move park closing times to 10:00 p.m.
Currently, Richland parks are open from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. However, a review of regional cities shows that a 10:00 p.m. closing time is common, the commission said in its report.
Reducing the hours is expected to decrease unwanted behavior that often occurs later in the evening when lighting is limited and staffing is reduced, the commission said.
