City of Pasco to discuss 2026 legislative agenda priorities

PASCO, Wash. – The City of Pasco is preparing to meet with local legislators to discuss the city’s 2026 legislative priorities.

The special workshop, set for December 8 at 6:00 p.m., will cover a range of critical issues impacting the community.

The agenda includes discussions on regional training needs, transportation improvements and water infrastructure projects:

Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA) Pasco Campus – The city is requesting $972,000 in state funding to upgrade the facility. Proposed improvements include security fencing, restroom renovations, and a new portable classroom to enhance training quality and safety.

Road 76 Overpass Project – The city seeks $30 million to create a multimodal connection across I-182. This project aims to reduce travel distances and vehicle miles, improving local travel patterns.

State Route 12 from A Street to Tank Farm/Sacajawea Park Road – The city is advocating for $3 million to conduct a comprehensive analysis to address safety concerns and develop solutions to improve regional economic vitality.

Butterfield Water Treatment Plant – The city requests $80 million in low-interest loans and grants for significant upgrades to meet future demand and treat harmful substances.

Department of Ecology’s Water Banking Grant – The city seeks a grant that is essential for securing a reliable water supply and supporting environmental benefits.

Pasco’s legislative priorities also include efforts to increase affordable housing, address homelessness and enhance community safety.
