WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – The Tri-City Raceway came alive with festive cheer as Christmas at the Mountain took center stage, offering music, lights and holiday fun, all while supporting a good cause.
Families gathered at the raceway on Monday evening, surrounded by dazzling Christmas decorations. Attendees contributed to Operation Candy Cane, donating food to support the local community.
“It’s actually amazing because, I feel like we’re just here trying to spread some Christmas cheer, but the coolest part about it is we have Benton County Fire District four here with Operation Candy Cane. They were able to get a whole truck and a trailer full of foods for our local community,” said Laci Tolar, the Project Manager with Tri-City Raceway.
The event featured performances, including songs from the Badger Mountain Elementary Choir, and a parade of decorated trucks. The Lower Valley Christmas Trucks Parade showcased vehicles adorned with lights.
“We got two little boys, and they’re about anything with a motor in it. So, you know, the venue with big, big vehicles and trucks with lights. Sound like a winner for us,” said a parent attending the event.
Families enjoyed exploring the Show ‘n Shine area, where they admired holiday truck displays, snapped photos and visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
“We just love Christmas traditions, and so we’re always on the lookout for another one. And I think we’re going to make this an annual one. It’s our first year coming here, but we might try it again next year,” said a first-time attendee.
The event successfully spread holiday cheer and gave back to the community, marking a festive start to the season in the Tri-Cities.
