YAKIMA, Wash. – Yakima Police are investigating a deadly case of child abuse.
Officers responded to a welfare check in the 300 block of North 4th Ave around 7:24 a.m. February 25.
Inside, they discovered a severely malnourished two-year-old and a deceased seven-month-old infant, according to a release by Yakima Police.
The two-year-old was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to a Seattle area hospital for further care.
A 20-year-old woman has been arrested and booked into the Yakima County Jail on multiple felony charges. The investigation is ongoing.
