PASCO, Wash. – Guests at CPCCo Planetarium at CBC get a special double-feature this Monday afternoon, 12 p.m. to 1.p.m.

The planetarium, located at CBC’s campus in Pasco, is a fully panoramic, state-of-the-art display system.

Prisco Blanco, director of one of the biggest planetariums in the Northwest, shared details about the event. “So the first [part] usually is a presentation of the night sky. So obviously if you look behind us, we do have the moon will be out tonight, and the Pleiades. And so all those will be conjoined. So it’d be something to look forward to if we don’t have clouds.”

Following the sky presentation, the Planetarium will show “Dinosaurs: a Story of Survival.” Blanco described it as “a 30 minute… animated documentary about the history of dinosaurs.”

The Planetarium offers various services to the community, including free campus field trips for public schools, private show rentals, and bilingual shows.

Blanco stated, “We do offer free campus field trips to all OSPI related, so all public schools. Then we also offer private shows. So, for example, you want to rent it out for the Planetarium for a birthday party, you can also do that here as well.”

To accommodate the Spanish-speaking community, the Planetarium has undergone renovations to make exhibits bilingual.

Blanco emphasized the inclusivity efforts, saying, “The… goal with CBC right now is to kind of make the campus more inclusive and more bilingual, especially for our Spanish-speaking population that they do make up half of our student populace.”

Tonight’s event will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets must be pre-purchased. For more information on the CBC and CPCCo Planetarium’s offerings, check their official website.
