Busy day for Benton County deputies with multiple arrests and incidents

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) had their hands full April 23 with a series of incidents that kept them busy throughout the day, BCSO said in a release.

The morning began with a crash involving a Camaro and a garbage truck. The driver of the Camaro was unharmed but was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Deputies suspected it was the same vehicle involved in previous reckless driving reports, BCSO said.

While investigating the crash, deputies responded to a mental health call. They dispatched medics and, after the individual was medically cleared, discovered he hadn’t eaten for some time. Deputies said they used the Benton County Sheriff Foundation funds to provide him with breakfast.

Later, BCSO said a Finley man was arrested for assaulting his significant other and making threats to kill her. He faces felony charges.

Deputies are also investigating a separate felony harassment case and are working to locate the suspect involved.

An arrest was made near Jacobs Road for a man with outstanding warrants. Deputies then proceeded to Prosser, where K9 Edward assisted in locating a potentially armed subject who had violated a protection order, BCSO said.
