Business Spotlight: Lone Crow Meats

RICHLAND, Wash.- Lone Crow Meats is a ranch to table store offering local meats and premium processing. Owner, Jen Hoseth and her husband Cody own a ranch in Eltopia where they raise their cattle and have a butcher shop in Connell.

“We basically haul our cattle up there, get them all butchered and then we bring them down to our store in Richland,” said Hoseth. Lone Crow also sells meats in bulk, giving customers the option to buy a quarter, a half or a whole cow.

You can find Lone Crow Meats new storefront in the Richland Parkway.

The Hoseths are first generation farmers, meaning they don’t have any family in the cattle business at all. “When my husband was a teenager, he just wanted to be a cowboy,” said Jen. “So he did what he had to do to make that happen.”

Jen recalled a time when he was able to buy his first set of steers after selling his car as a teenager, allowing them to grow their ranch. “When COVID hit we really started to turn to sell meat because obviously we couldn’t sell cattle for anything,” said Jen. “The ranch just wouldn’t have survived if we didn’t start selling out meat.”

You can browse their meats in store or on their website.
